Create an Activity
There are 18 fields on the Add/Edit Activity form; some of these fields will be used frequently and others will rarely be used. In this topic, you will learn how to create a basic activity. If you are interested in learning the purpose of every field, see Activity Fields for complete details.
The first thing you should ask yourself when creating an activity is who are the participants for this activity? Are they children, adults, a mix of both? The answer to this question will determine what settings you will select for your activity. Consult the following table for some ideas.

The only required field when creating an activity is the Activity name; however, the other settings determine things like how Fellowship One Check-in will interact with the activity.
To create an activity:
- Click Ministry > Activity/Room Setup > Activities. The Add/Edit Activity form appears. Ensure the correct ministry is displayed in the ministry box at the top of the form.
- In the General Settings box, type a name for the activity in the Activity name field.
- Optionally, type an Age range for the activity in the Age Attributes box. This is a typical setting for children's activities.
- In the Check-in Settings box, select the options when using Check-in. Typically, you will select the Check-in enabled and Print a name tag check boxes. Additionally, don't forget about the Auto assignments drop-down list. This option is turned off by default, but is a feature that allows both Check-in and Post Attendance to create assignments for you based on participant attendance.
- In the Assignment Attributes box, select the options for creating assignments. Typically, you will leave the Activity selection for Participant assignments, but will select Activity Schedule for Vol/Staff assignments. Don't forget about the Required drop-down list; this is where you define if participants need to register prior to attending the activity.
- Click Save and continue.
